Respite Care
Do you need a break from carrying for someone, or just need a short term care arrangement? Respite care could be the solution for you.
What is Respite Care?
Respite care is short-term care provided by someone else rather than a regular carer for your loved one. The respite care offered by Unity would occur in the person’s own home. As their regular carer, this would give you time to rest, so you can carry on looking after them.
We understand that it is not easy to look after someone, but rest is essential, so you can recharge and take care of yourself as well. Finding someone you can trust might also be challenging. However, our compassionate and reliable staff will put your mind at ease so that you can have a well-deserved break.
How can respite care help me?
Having someone you can trust to leave your loved ones with will give you a chance to go out of the house and recharge your batteries mentally and physically. Having this extra support means that you can take better care of yourself and, consequently, your loved ones.
However, you are not the only person that can benefit from a short break. It can also be an excellent benefit for your loved one. They will have an opportunity to do something a little different and meet new people.
